Abstract
["Business Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView. ", "\nABSTRACT\nThis research aims to investigate the relationship between green innovation and competitive advantage through a bibliometric analysis. The data were obtained from the widely used social science databases, Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus, and then processed using the open‐source programming language R. The results were presented based on performance analysis and scientific mapping, fundamental elements of bibliometric analysis. A comprehensive collection of relevant literature was compiled from the WoS and Scopus databases, resulting in 738 documents. In the study, only “articles” were selected; “management,” “business,” “social sciences,” “social sciences interdisciplinary,” and “environmental science” studies, “SSCI” and “ESCI” journals, and “English” language studies were included, and 297 documents were obtained as a result. As a result, by utilizing existing literature, businesses can develop and improve their green innovation activities, which are crucial for gaining a competitive advantage over their competitors. This is an evolving literature with a maximum of 73 articles in 2024, which is a testimony of its mainstream position because of increasing environmental concerns. The landscape of publication is dominated by major journals such as Sustainability and Business Strategy and the Environment, which suggests a mature field. The research has moved from scattered talks to a more unified structure, with the main categories being green corporate capacity, innovation capabilities, and organizational learning. Such progress implies a more sophisticated understanding of the role of green innovation in competitive advantage. The topic is still emerging and there are prospects for further research especially in the areas of digital technology and institutional contexts. In summary, the field has become multidimensional, and there is room for important theoretical and empirical contributions in the near future.\n"]
