Abstract
With our days as busy as they are in general practice, it can be difficult to find time to think about some of the bigger issues of our age; and they do not come much bigger than climate change and the sustainability of our environment. The GP curriculum is made up of many parts; however, there are some overarching themes that can help us to make sense of what it means to be a GP. Margaret Chan, the Director General of the World Health Organisation, has described climate change as the biggest threat to health in the 21st century. However, the implications for health will run for far longer than this century alone.
