How social media is changing leadership and innovation

Abstract
Leadership in healthcare has been prioritised in recent years, following the Francis report it is now actively promoted in post graduate training as being everyone’s responsibility. Leading grassroots innovation is a challenging task in a traditional organisational model. This article looks at how the rise in the use of social media to discuss professional issues has acted as a leveler, and how the NHS leadership model and social media can enhance personal leadership qualities and facilitate how all doctors can influence healthcare delivery.
