Abstract
["Natural Resources Forum, EarlyView. ", "\nABSTRACT\nThis study examines the impact of human capital and financial services on household solar PV and biogas innovation uptake. Using survey data from 6230 households from Burkina Faso, multivariate probit and propensity score matching methods are employed. The results indicate that mobile money innovation increases the likelihood of solar PV and biogas selection by 34.82% and 42.62%, respectively. While access to formal credit improves the acceptance of solar PV by 21.73% and biogas by 26.74%, informal credit access only enhances the transition to biogas by 28.48%. Additionally, better health conditions are associated with 12.54% and 14.37% higher odds of promoting solar PV technology and biogas, respectively. Moreover, having “green” experiences increases household willingness to switch to solar PV and biogas innovations by 19.41% and 22.52%, respectively. Finally, household acceptance of renewable innovations is also influenced by social, demographic, geographical, and infrastructure attributes.\n"]
