", "\nABSTRACT\nThis paper examines the short‐ and long‐run effects of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake on paddy production using a difference‐in‐differences framework and district‐level panel data spanning 2010–2019. We document a 10.95% decline in paddy production and a 6.94% decline in yield in earthquake‐affected districts in the short run, with effects fully dissipating over the long run. Decomposing production losses into intensive and extensive margins reveals that the intensive margin explains the majority of losses. Heterogeneity analysis shows that production losses scale with seismic intensity while yield losses operate as a common behavioural shock uniformly across affected districts. Household survey evidence confirms two reinforcing channels: a contraction in agricultural labour supply during the critical planting season and a reallocation of household resources toward reconstruction of damaged dwellings.\n"]
