Using purposive sampling, this study collected data from residents of tourist destinations in Bangladesh. A total of 490 responses were analyzed from a collection of 521, with 31 questions answered incorrectly, resulting in an 81.6% response rate. The findings showed that cultural involvement, responsibility practice, hedonic motivation, and psychological well‐being significantly affect residents' exchange ideology and pro‐environmental intention. Later, exchange ideology significantly enhances pro‐environmental intention. Although residents' pro‐environmental intentions have attracted growing scholarly attention, research has yet to explore how behavioral factors shape individuals' intentions to foster a proactive environmental context. Moreover, existing studies often overlook the importance of exchange ideology and its underlying factors as a key link between residents' intentions and actions.\n"]
