This leads to risks that often result in a poor living and care situation for families. To support them, an innovative, regionally anchored advisory service is being developed by so‐called Family Health Partners (German acronym: FGP) as part of the NEST project. This article describes the results of the effectiveness of FGP for families with children in need of care 6, 12 and 18 months after the start of the intervention. The focus lies on access to care and familial burdens in this group.\n\n\nMethod\nThe effectiveness of the intervention was tested in a nonrandomised controlled study with four measurement points (baseline, follow‐up after 6, 12 and 18 months) between January 2022 and April 2024. A total of 204 families were recruited for an intervention and control group. Multilevel models were used to analyse the longitudinal data.\n\n\nResults\nBetween baseline and the third follow‐up measurement point, there were statistically significant improvements in the intervention group, especially in knowledge of care/therapy, financial and advisory services. In addition, personal and social strains of the family as well as financial burdens decreased over time.\n\n\nConclusions\nThe results of the intervention study indicate that a positive change can be achieved in terms of access to care and reduction of familial burdens through FGP.\n\n"]
